Doolen Middle School Bands

In our music program, emphasis is placed on musicianship, technique, history, theory, and the development of each student's musical knowledge. Achieved through hard work, it is the pride in a job well done that makes our efforts worthwhile. The success of the individual leads to the success of the band. Our ability to progress and achieve both as individuals and as a band is dependant on our ability to function in an orderly, systematic manner as we strive to attain our goals. The most important value that the group should work for is the ability to become the best that they can be as a group and have fun while doing so.

Though Tucson Unified School District provides some financial support, the Band Program depends on donations and fundraisers to purchase the instruments, sheet music, books, and equipment that we use.

Please check with your employer for possible donation-matching programs or donation programs to music education that they may have. All donations are tax-deductible(!) and a receipt can be obtained at request. Thank you for your support!

If you are a parent interested in donating your time to the Doolen Band Program, please contact Mr. Thompson. There are many ways that your efforts could help befit our students' music education.
